Does anyone know anything about Vocu's "Magic Tone Room" pedal?

Vocu is a Japanese effects company and this "Magic Tone Room" is touted as a high-low cut filter/harmonic enhancer, but that could mean a lot. I'm just wondering if anyone has used one.

Sure. Here's the company link: VOCU Top Page
It's the second product on the "News" page--unfortunately, the site is entirely in Japanese.

If I get a chance this week, I could translate some if you'd like, bassbrad.

Thanx for the like, don't worry about the translation. Looks pretty basic inside, perhaps too basic.
Enhancer, Exciter, Maximizer circuits very often have tune controls for low or hi frequencies looks like this one may allow some variance over notch or shelf points. It might be interesting if it is tailored for bass players if not something like the BBE Sonic Stomp or Aphex boxes may be more useful and or affordable.

I asked the ESP Custom Shop in Osaka to order one in so I could check it out, something they were only too happy to do. (Tsuyoushi and his crew there are some of the finest, most helpful music merchants I've ever encountered!) I hooked up to a T.C. stack with whatever Spector was closest (4 string; humbuckers), running the Vocu pedal alone, before and after an EBS comp., and before and after a Boss auto wah. Results were decidedly mixed and marginal at best. Ultimately, it is just as bassbrad predicted: "it might be interesting if it [were] tailored for bass players." I found the unit far too subtle (though not disagreeable) for my tastes on either setting, and any effects run afterward simply ate any sound coloring completely. The specs look like it should work with any device, but my hunch is that this was made by and for treble guitarists. That being said, the "Magic Tone Room" does allow exacting control over some delicate aspects of generated sound texture, particularly narrow frequency band harmonic boost/cut, and might be useful for someone with very specific needs in that area.
