Does an Opto-Stomp use power when bypassed?

This is probably a dumb question...so sorry...
I had assumed when the bypass is enabled, no power is consumed. But, the battery in my brand new opto-stomp was dead today after sitting overnight (bypassed, I think). Cables were plugged in though...

there's your answer. As long as there is a cable in the input it will draw power.

Unplug the input when you're not using it and you'll have many happy hours of compressing fun.

the little guy in there that takes all that sound and compresses is waiting for bass notes as long as a cord is plugged in. if you had it plugged in all night he probably missed his dinner and fell asleep.

the real question is: "If an Opto Stomp falls in the forrest, does it compress a sound?"

Poor little guy...I feel bad
Kinda reminds me of the Star Trek where the guy sits all night in the room with the little spinny light thingy and has his brain erased...

Why, because a guy had his brain erased or a geek like me can find almost anything in life to relate to a Star Trek episode? FYI, I can do it for Seinfeld too.
