Thumbs down DON'T SHOP AT MUSICTOYZ.COM!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just wanted to get the word out about Musictoyz.com. I ordered a Voodoo Labs amp selector from them over a week ago, when I did I received an email from them confirming its shipment. So today I called UPS to find out where it was, they tell me they haven't even received it. So I call Musictoyz, after being treated like crap by their customer service they couldn't tell me where my amp selector is, and I have to wait just to try and get a refund. It's been a big pain in the ass, I should have just used one of the major online music store sites. Don't shop with them!!!

Damn, I'm in the same boat.

I ordered a Demeter Compulator on 2/27/08. Got the e-mail saying expect shipping notification from U.P.S. - and nothing.

My e-mails have gone unanswered.

My one experience with them wasn't very good either.

Or try one of the many other small dudes around:

http://www.humbuckermusic.com/
http://www.tonefactor.com/
http://www.pedalgeek.com/
http://www.guitareffectspedals.com/
et alia

I've never tried Music Toyz. Sucks for the bad experiences.

I generally use www.analogman.com or www.tonefactor.com

I've heard Music Toyz warnings before. Sorry you are having issues with them

I've bought gear a few times from guitareffectspedals.com. Extremely prompt replys to emails, fast shipping, great customer service. A 1spot cable was left out of one order ione time. All it took was an email letting him know and he shipped another one priority mail free of charge.

I got my pickups through darreriley.com. Again, very helpful and fast shipping.

Haven't ordered through tonefactor but the emails I've sent have always been replied to really quickly. Cheap international shipping too which can be the deal breaker living on the bottom of the world in NZ.

If one of the smaller guys carries what I want I support them by ordering from them but if it's a bigger brand like voodoo labs and the smaller guys don't carry it I'd go with MF or AMS just because they are generally pretty decent with customer service.

I have bought in the past from guitareffectspedals.com and pedalgeek.com. Both very professional and highly recommended ...

Well, thanks for all the hindsight guys

Any ideas on how to go about getting the pedal or the money back?

Email them a link to this site.

Their pedal selection appears to beat everyone else's but it seems that there are too many horror stories about them (not in stock, not shipping, etc etc) that I am not willing to take the risk to get anything from them.

Sorry, not to be ignorant; but to what end?

Just to show that it's easy to get the word out about their bad rep?

It seems like a good idea.

That's weird. Musictoyz treats me like GOLD. They used to be based where I live and I've chatted with one of the employees before.

I have heard that if you buy an instock item from them MusicToyz is a great place to buy from, on the other hand I heard their inventory system stinks and if you buy something out of stock you don't always get notified.

One warning with that. They could threaten legal action. Had a friend on a photo chat room have a problem with a product sold by a major photo equipment manufacturer. They threatened legal action to the point that she had to print a retraction on the chat room. Needless to say I have not bought any of their products since, but if they want to be SOB's they can

That's exactly the type of I thing I'd be worried about.

Claiming I started a smear campaign by verbally (textually?) abusing them.

Will Visa be able to do anything about it?

And if they threaten legal action that would be like shooting themselves in the foot also. The word will get out and they will be perceived as bullies who would rather intimidate than provide service.

Sounds like a good plan for going out of business to me.
