| A guitarist friend of mine actually glued a delay pedal to the body of one of his guitars (a cheap squire strat) specifically for this reason.
He also used an alesis 'air effects' unit on a stand for a while, which was interesting.
Otherwise, quite a few multifx units let you control various parameters with the expression pedal. The zoom B9.1ut is particularly interesting as it has a 'z-pedal' that not only rocks back and forth, but also side to side to you can control 2 parameters in real time. So say overdrive gain and chorus rate. Or volume and delay rate.
