Doublekick Wah? A bit of fun

Sign in to disble this ad
Just a harmless (I hope) question, for all you effects enthusiasts.

This is not related to anything, just something that popped up into my mind a while back.

If one were so inclined, and had two wah pedals, a chair, and ample time, could they connect two wah pedals directly next to each other in the signal chain, and then procede to operate the wah pedals alternatively, much like a doublekick pedal on a drum kit?
Surely someone has tried, or will try this after reading.
Would this produce some sort of crazy, far off sound?
Or would it just be redundant?
Am I just wasting your time?

I don't use effects, so try not to rip me to shreds when you reply with the obvious answer.

Cheers.

Now I feel dirty, knowing I should of searched first. However, I believe I was the first to call it doublekick wah, so I win in some ways.
You just hate me 'cause I'm awesome, haha.

No worries. I was just pointing you in the right (I hope) direction .
"Doublekick" wahs is a pretty cool idea I just don't have enough money to warrant a novelty like that. I can't think of any practical uses in a band situation. It's not for me anyway

Let's say that you start a solo and give the drummer a chair near the 2 wah pedals. That would be major double whaming!!

Im sorry guys, but I dont know what this would do, or the effect it would have?

Wouldnt you essentially be "wah-ing another wah"?

If you wire them series the result is uninteresting because filters tend to erase each other and the resulting range is so limited there's almost no sound coming out.
Now if you go parallel it's much more interesting. 2 filters going opposite ways.
Several multi-effects offer this stuff, such as the Korg AX-3000B or the Roland V-Bass.
The Line6 Otto Filter has a mode that does just that but based on dynamics rather than pedal movement.

running one filter into another, basically. if you run them together, like up-up down-down in the same sweep, its just a more dramatic sound.

but you leave one on and move the other, or move them at different speeds, one up-one down, sweep them opposite each other.. theres crazy noise.

Here's one for ya. I put my 105q right after my Whammy and squeeze them close together. I set the whammy for an octave up pitch shift and use both pedals at the same time. Now that is some fun.
