downtuning/detuning type effects

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys
Is anyone here aware of any down tuning/detuning effects other than those on the digitech whammy IV preferably with an effected and clean line out or some sort of mix. I'm just wondering if their are other options? or similar/better of this particular
effect?

The previous Whammy models also have clean outputs.

Boss has some pitch shifters which could also accomplish this. The PS-3, for example, can be set so that one output delivers only a clean signal, and the other outputs the pitch-shifted signal. As for the newer PS-5, I'm not sure. I haven't messed with one in person.

But if you're trying to produce the sound of a downtuned bass that sounds natural... it's not going to happen. You'd be better off with a Hipshot Bass Xtender.

Nope I'm seeking utter dissonance and searching for effects that will help me do it well. I tried the ps-5. Didnt think terribly highly of it. Looking to try a ps-3. The whammy did what I wanted , and quite well at that. But if there was another effect that did that and specialised in it more I would be thrilled. Even if it was a boutique thing

In that case... yeah, the PS-3 may be more to your liking. Check out my review of it in this forum if you're interested.

The HOG will also detune on the fly. Depending on what you're looking for, really.

All you have to do is search for its full name: "Pitch Shifter/Delay"

Here it is, BTW: "Schizophrenia in Pedal Form": Boss PS-3 Digital Pitch Shifter/Delay Review
