I want to run a clean and dirty signal into one amp. I have an Idea as to how to do this, but I am not quite sure if it will work. This is only a temporary setup as I plan on getting another rig dedicated for my dirty channel.
My plan is to go into on ABY switch with one side going through my effects chain, and the other a dry signal. From there going into another ABY switch with the out going to the amp.
Will this work?

What I was hoping to do was to use the input ABY switch just as a splitter and the one to the amp to switch between clean, dirty and both on.

The one thing it doesn't allow you to do is to select loop a, then add in loop b, then remove loop a. If all you need is a blended loop or clean, then it should work for you in AB mix mode. You would put your effects in one of the loops, and the empty loop will short itself and become the clean blend.
The problem with ABY's is you have outputs sending voltage to other outputs and they can have some pretty unpleasant reactions. LS-2 creates isolation and prevents outputs from receiving voltage.
There are some other blenders that are more xotic and have features that would wound a paw on a badger as well as silence a fly, but if this is just a stopgap until you up your rig, an LS-2 should do the job for much less.
EDIT: The Boss will allow you to select between clean and dirty, or switch between both and clean, but not both at the same time.

I really never need to kill the clean signal. I like to bring in a dirty signal on some songs, and during my guitar players solos to keep the sound full.

If you hook up the pedal the way I described above, in ABmix mode, pressing the switch would go from a clean sound, to a blended clean/dirty sound, and back.
With the pedals hooked up the same way, but in A<->B mode, you would switch between a 100% clean and 100% dirty sound when you stomp the pedal.
