Dubstep on a Zoom B3
INTRO: hey guys I didn't get any replies in the B3 patches thread so I though I'd make one specifically for this question as I need the patch before tomorrow.
Hey guys, my experimental metal band have been thinking of adding in some dubstep as our drummer loves playing to it and I think it would be cool and weird to play, anyway can someone help me with getting a sound like this Video.
The signal chain is ring mod -> Moog low pass -> tremolo, I think
Thanks for any help with the patch.
P.S I have a expression pedal with my B3
Try running the V-synth into the ringmod then(I know this seems weird)the Univibe. I don't have my B3 in front of me to tell you the settings. I'll go have a noodle in a minute and see if I get a sound up on soundcloud and some settings for you. I have a few different wobble patches but that one is my favorite for some reason. You could also try the slicer or trem into the m-filter. I have a couple of patches like that but sometimes I like em and sometimes they don't really do anything for me. One advantage of using the slicer is that the expression controls the balance and not the rate so you'll be locked on to whatever tempo you want. Anyway there's at least a couple of ideas to try.
There is a sample of the sound mentioned above on my soundcloud now and here is a link to the patch:
