the dumbest zoom b2 question ever?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok guys, I know I risk being roasted here, but here goes.
I've had the zoom b2 now w/ an opt expresion peadal for about a year. Love the presets, drums and tuner. Very nice unit.
My question is, when the unit is part of your effects (signal) chain, where's the bypass? I mean if its powered off, it will allow no sound to go through it, and if its on it forces you to choose a patch. Doesn't seem to offer any patches that don't color your tone in some way.
There it is. If your gonna kill me @ least help me out with some info
Thanx

Stepping on both switches should put it in bypass. Holding both switches should put it in mute/tune. You can also set up an external footswitch for bypass. The bypass isn't great. It kind of compresses your signal. I think it's the AD/DA or something.

Another way to go is to set up 'clean' patches scattered throughout your presets so you don't need to try to hit both switches at once.

Cool. great info.
However when bypass is activated and "bp" showa up on the led temporarily, when you start to play the tuner seems to be operating on juat about every note played. Tone seems clean. Is this just how it works in bypass?

Yes, in bypass and mute modes the tuner is operational. I have a neutral room setting that is my default clean sound, at the top of each bank A0, B0, C0 & DO.
