Dunlop 105Q Crybaby Bass Wah Soundclips

Sign in to disble this ad
So it's been a long time since I've done soundclips of this pedal, and I'm sure my old soundclips are long gone now.

I've done a lot of clips of the wah pedal I use, my Wilson Effects Custom Bass Wah, I definitely recommend Kevin Wilson if you're looking for a bass wah, but I will post some clips of the 105Q for comparison.

Here it is with my amp distorted:

Here it is with my rig cranked up. The microphonic feedback is unavoidable at that volume.

Here's a better clip. I had to adjust the volume on the pedal a bit, I had had it too low.

What are your settings on the wah for this example?

My favorite pedal....I use it alot, and not just wah wah stuff. Holding it open creates a nice change of sounds during verses or bridges and such.
But I must have worn out my 105Q after almost 8 years of heavy use. It makes funny warp noises and doesn't have the high-end waka-waka anymore. So I went out last week and bought a new one, and wow what a difference. I'm in love with it all over again.

Someday I may see if I can send the old one in to Dunlop and pay the bench fee and have it repaired and keep it with the home rig or something.

Nothing wrong with that. Bass wah is a very fun effect, my first effect was a Dunlop Crybaby Bass Wah (the black one). That's nearing on ten years ago now, and I still don't build a pedalboard without a bass wah.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This makes my decision on which way to buy so much easier
I tried the original Dunlop Wah, and it KILLS my volume. This wah here sounds just right, and keeps the same volume. I can't wait to get my own.

I'm always amazed at how well the 105Q keeps the low-end. Prety cool gadget.

I've had a 105Q for a while and am very happy with it. I keep the Q cranked and the Volume around 3/4 to match my dry volume. I use it in conjunction with a Bass Big Muff for distortion. Pretty sweet.
