Dunlop Bass Wah 105Q replacement pot help!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I tried searching but nothing specfic came up as to what pot(s) I should buy to repair my 105Q.

Ive read mention of pots that handle the low end better, and i want to make sure I buy the correct pot to bring my wah back to its original sound.

I've seen the Hot Potz II by dunlop, but im unsure if this pot is also ment as a replacement for the 105Q.

Just if you're gonna ask why im replacing my pot, when it could just need a clean, its not that my pot is scratchy - I'm pretty sure it no longer works.

The pedal no longer completes the wah sweep. Instead, it seems to active, but stays at the start of the sweep when I move it back and forth, giving me only the lower frequencies effected. I've opened the pedal up, played with the part the treadle turns, and it only only activates the start of the sweep, nothing else.

Thus, I'm thinking of replacing the pot, however someone might know my problem, and it may not be the pot.

Any help is much appreciated!

Oh, I didnt realise that just sold the replacement part, thanks!

I'll buy that unless anyone thinks my problem may not be the pot.

PS. If anyone knows a guide for replacing the 105q's pot, could they please link it?

if the pot is not scratchy, might not need replacement,

maybe a wire got broke lose, or something got bummed up
from opening and closing the case for battery changes

that pot in the link shows a 20k somebody might have replaced
it with a guitar hot pot which range from 100k to 470k
100k being the norm for guitar
with a higher value it could mess with the sweep range

you owned this since new? or bought used?

just go to Guitar Center and ask to try out a 105Q and switch it out with yours.
just kidding don't do that.

I bought it new, but its no longer under warranty. One day it just stopped working! ><

We dont have Guitar Center here in Australia - I bought this from Allan's Music, one of the big guitar chain stores.

I just wish I could do something to get rid of that terrible volume drop when you first step on it. That makes it worthless to me, dammit. A fatal flaw.

Is the Morley Pro any better?

Have you turned the volume trimpot on the side of the pedal?
