Dunlop Brick. Any problems using 18v??

I am thinking of purchasing one of these as they are less then half the cost of a Voodoo Labs pedal Power. I realize that the Voodoo Labs is likely a higher quality unit with isolated inputs and filtering but I need something that will power a mixture of MXR 18v pedals and some regular 9v pedals.

I have read on harmony central that there are noise issues when using the Brick to power MXR 18v pedals such as the stereo chorus and EVH flanger.

Could anyone who has tried the Brick with MXR 18v pedals let me know if they have experienced noise or other issues? I don't want to waste time on the Brick if its going to cause noise issues. Seems crazy as its clearly designed to power the MXR series of 18v pedals.

I used it to power a Dano Cool Cat 18v and an MXR Flange, and I experienced no noise issues.

The trouble is that people don't actually properly troubleshoot their systems and they just blame whatever the problem is on the last piece of equipment they bought. It's quite possible that the noise they experienced was caused by something other than the brick, but we will never know because they are muppets.

I didn't know that Floyd Pepper used a Dunlop DC Brick.

Anyhow... no problems powering my Blowtorch, either. That is, when I had a Brick.

But, as it is essentially a daisy chain with extra perks, it's susceptible to the same issues you might run into with a wall wart and a daisy chain. Other than that, I wouldn't be worried.

Pick one up from a local GC and give it a test run. If you get noise, return it, and at least you'll know that something in your rig demands isolated power, or that there's something else to diagnose. Otherwise, if you experience no problems, return it anyway and get one used from a TBer or eBay or something...

When I used to have pedals, I powered my Fulltone Bassdrive @ 18v with a Brick, no problems whatsoever.
