Dunlop DC Brick + Rusty Box

Sign in to disble this ad
so I've been pondering a good way to power a Rusty Box on a pt mini and was wondering if anyone has tried using the DC Brick's two 18v outputs coupled for the power hungry Rusty Box?!

I'd really like to avoid having to have more than one power connection to make

but if its the only way.... I'll have to do it

or risk it by trying it and hope I don't fry anything

I don't think it can be done. If the grounds are not isolated (as is the case with the Dunlop) then the connection of the two voltage sources is in parallel; this means there will be more capacity for current draw, but the voltage will stay at 18 V. Using a supply with isolated grounds allows you to make a series connection, which will add the two voltages together for 36 V.
