Do you guys know of any pedal that sounds like this that has this many features that is cheaper? I'm really on the limb on this guy since it sounds exactly like the sound I'm looking for, and the extra features look pretty cool as well. http://www.analoguehaven.com/dwarfcr...clairethunder/ |

It takes damn near forever to drive from Madison (my oft-maligned- by my own tongue - hometown), especially in a rainstorm. I tell you, beef jerky, Mountain Dew: Code Red, and Fiona Apple's Tidal make driving four hours late at night a bit more bearable.
Anyway, this Eau Claire Thunder sounds like a cool box. I'd like to try the Hex, if he actually gets around to making it. I really should get SOMETHING from Wisconsin, even if I have to pay an additional 500% sales tax.

| | | I have one. It is seriously loud with my 18v preamp. I've got the volume at about 9 o'clock for somewhere near unity gain. No serious low-end loss as far as I can tell. The tone knob will go from high-gain distortion with considerable low-end loss to more low-end based ( ??) distortion. The momentary feedback switch is kinda cool, but delivers not the feedback I was hoping for. Instead, when turned up, and especially with the toneblast on, it will feedback easily. The trim-knob does not do much for the overall sound. It is noticable, but very slightly unless cranked up. Then I end up with an almost clean-like sound.
I bought it for a more distortion-like tone to go alongside my fuzz. It almost made me switch out the B:assmaster (silverburst, silicon version). The way I have it setup now is running my B:assmaster into the ECT into the VTBass for a total wall of fuzz/distortion. When my LS-2 will show up, I'm going to try some different configuration to see what I like best. I may try to record some sounds later this week, if I am able.

Does it get pretty deep with the distortion knob in the lower settings? Does the toneblast really add a bunch of volume? I'm also not looking for slight distortion, but a heavy cutting distortion. Will this guy do that? |

| | | | So I messed up that reply.
The youtube vid is quite accurate.
I think it can cut through, but my guitarist does not use that much effects as I do, so I don't know for sure. Since I run it into the VTBass, the sound becomes a bit different. This thing is meant for HEAVY distortion, but it really depends on your definition of heavy distortion. I wanted a tone resembling a guitar playing through a cranked metalzone like distortion, but more focussed on lower frequencies instead of the higher ones.
I'll post another comment when I get back from work.
EDIT: I'd like to think that on some occasions, my sound resembles Sunn O))) a bit with the compulsory feedback. Then again I'm tuned ADADGC, so that helps.

Damn you, joe.
