I really love the OD on this pedal. | I'll agree with this. It's slightly more versatile and there is definitely more gain on tap. This thing is insane.

The xxlb being inherently more mid scooped. I also like the overdrive mode setting better, but I like the 308 setting at about 1/2 gain and 1/4 to 1/2 tone. I use it blended or in parallel FWIW.

| | | | Well well well, My first pedal purchase in a while will see me have an Iron Pig.
I'd still be very interested to see/hear direct comparisons between the Rat Tail and Iron Pig. |

The Iron Pig replaced it and a few other pedals on my board. It is an extremely versatile pedal. I have two different ProCo Rats and I definitely favor the Pig.

| | | | Hey Josh,
Was there any inherant sound difference between the Pig and the Tail?
Or was it the extra Gain/Clipping options that the Pig provided that swung the vote that way?
I only ask as I still might get a Rat Tail for the 2nd setting option. |

The good thing is, not everyone needs said options. I personally dig the additional "bells and whistles" and can use all the options in different settings. You really can't go wrong with either or. Top two Rat clones I've ever heard without a doubt.
You can probably grab an RT for cheaper (and quicker), so maybe going for that is a better option.

Iron Pig is already ordered, Rat Tail will probably happen, but not for a while yet. |
