Earthbound Supercollider v2

Looks like my luck is awesome these days. Got the last Quasar on pedalgeek and I get to choose from the new v2 or v1 supercollider.

Here's the details from mark on v2.

Hello Ryan,

You've ordered at a great time as I've just finished work on Supercollider v.2. The major change is that a mids knob will replace the mids switch. Everything else about the circuit is the same, but the mids knob will have a much greater sweep and offer more tonal options. I am also moving the foot switch to a more natural centered position and altering the graphics (though keeping the same black on green color scheme). I've attached a rough layout of v.2 so that you have an idea of where everything will be placed. The final layout will be posted on the Earthbound Myspace site in the coming days.

You can have either v.1 or the new v.2. Let me know as soon as possible so I can get to work on your pedal. Thanks again,

-Mark

Ok, now I'm interested. This seems like a pretty cool pedal, and the mid adjustment is a great improvement!

Damn it! This kicks so much a$$, but I already have a v1.

In fact, what he should do is wire up the depth control in reverse so it's effectively a bass knob, and relabel the tone control so you have bass, mid, treble!

Isn't the tone knob a treble and bass knob? turn the knob counter clock and it's more bass, more treble on clockwise.

I don't notice any drop in lows with the tone all the way up, unlike other fuzzes I've tried. Maybe a little bit, but that just might be a perception thing because there's more high frequency content coming in making the lows seem less dominant. I've not bothered running it through a spectrum analyser though so who knows! My fave setting is gain at maximum, depth at minimum, tone at 1:30, volume at 11:00, mids switch up (flat mids). If you get the chance to run it into a Boomstick Bottom Feeder, try it, it sounds evil!

Had the Bottomfeeder, didn't like it. I'll try it with all my pedals though

Actually there is some low end loss with the tone above 2 o'clock. But there's still some bass there even with the tone at max.

I experience the same with my Tonebender, thus why i keep it around 10-11oc.

I was already very interested in the Supercollider, and this sounds like a great addition. Hope to be ordering one soon! Any word as to whether this new change will correspond with a price increase?

Still 120$ for me. Doubt it will have a price increase. If it does, i would only think 5-10$ more.

Bummer. Already ordered mine, but o well! I've been reading that these things are super rad, so I bet they will both sound incredible. I guess someone will have to buy another to review them both.

I e-mailed him earlier today regarding my v1 order and I was able to switch to the new v2. Woohoo!
