I am looking to replace my LBM. Just too noisy. I have a Boss noise gate on the way to try and clean things up a bit but not holding my breath.

There is a Colorsound Tonebender and a couple of AKAI Unibasses on Ebay right now. I know the Unibass is not just a fuzz pedal (and I do have a Micro Pog) but I have never heard any clips of it. I have heard clips of the Tonebender and love it's sound.

If you could only buy one which would it be?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you want the Unibass. It doesn't fuzz up your bass signal at all. In fact, it lets your clean bass sound through completely unchanged. What it does do is harmonize by adding an octave up and +5th or -4th tones...and you can add distortion to the harmonized notes. It's pretty cool, but fuzz it is not.

I love my Tonebender. Expensive, but so thick and nasty

That'll work just fine. The NS-2 is a fantastic and inexpensive gate, I've used it to clamp down on all my gain pedals with much success. Really tightens up my Big Muff pi with the decay set to minimum.

That was my suspicion...that it was not a fuzz type sound.

Any clips of a Tonebender that I have heard have just made me drool!

Thanks Idoru! I now have hope that the LBM can be saved.
