EBS BASSIQ or Line6 FM4

I've been looking through the effects forum for quite some time gathering ideas for my pedalboard. I have settled with a Furman SPB-8, a Dunlop 105q bass wah, a Whammy4, Micropog, DSTMMw/H, Holy Grail(no+), planet waves tuner and I have a Sonny and Sanford Bluebeard on order(thanks to Bassfuzz.com). To finish my board I want to get a versatile and bass friendly filter. Do any of you guys have experience with the FM4 by line 6 or the EBS BASSIQ? I see both are avaliable at a reasonable cost and was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction. To get an idea of the type of music I'm playing check out myspace.com/dangerousstudio Thanks

I forgot about the Qballs maybe I should just wait for this to be avaliable? Does anyone know when that will be?

I have a FM4, but I mainly use it for synth sounds. I don't remember being in love with any of the real filter patches.

Thanks for the feedback. I definately want to do some synthy sounding stuff so that may be + for versatility.

I had a BassIQ. It is a great autowah, but it doesn't get real synthy imo. I wish I still had it, I'd be using it in my new band.

Go ot the EBS website for soundclips, good sample of what it sounds like.

Filters are my favorite effect and there are so many out there that it would be hard to pick just one. I tried a current true bypass EBS bass IQ and was pretty underwhelmed. I found I had to dime the sensitivity to get the filter to open and it just didn't sound very good to me. Now this was in a store without my own gear so its hardly a comprehensive review.

I currently own the 3 Leaf Groove Regulator and the new Xotic Robotalk2. Both are fantastic wet, squelchy high end filters that sound different enough to my ears to warrant having both on my small pedalboard. Either one would be a fantastic place to start. Do a search for the 3 Leaf as there is a ton of info about it.

with a fuzz and maybe octave, the EBS can do plenty of synthy effects

Ideally I would like to have one that is versatile. With that in mind I'm thinking the FM4 but the only issue, like all line6 stuff, is adjusting sounds on the fly. So I may have to get 2 filters. I will be trying the Prometheus, the 3leaf and the Robotalk soon. Thanks for the input.
