Maybe. How old is it? I can't remember if EBS is TBP or not. Let me know and we can go from there

Old EBS isn't. EBS as of last year is.

Of course, one then gets into splitting hairs about defining TBP, but that's for another thread.

Right, I thought I heard that. There are diff. measures to be taken given them both.

Technically there is no such thing as TBP J/k of course.

It is true bypass.
It works fine when it it on. If I put it on mute instead of bypass that works. When in bypass mode it cuts out all together, or gets fuzzy randomly, sometimes it works fine. If I push lightly on the bypass stomp when in bypass it fuzzes up gets clear fuzzez up ect.....

So I have looked around and I guess this is a common problem? This is bull for the amount it costs. Someone on Harmony Central said it was the bypass switch that was the issue and replacing it would clear up the problem. Can anyone confirm this?

Sounds like the switch to me. Maybe a loose connection.

It involves taking the pedal apart and using contact cleaner to wash-out the switch.... If your not familiar with capacitor discharge, you might want to let a qualified electronics repairman show you how! You could possibly get hurt if you don't know what your doing. (there is a surprising amount of stored current in an ac powered pedal like the Valve-Drive!)
