EBS Microbass II into effects loop or input?

Sign in to disble this ad
Been re-visiting my Microbass and trying to work out the pros and cons of using the amp's effects loop or the guitar input.
When it goes into the effects return it obviously bypasses the amp's pre, but that means it also bypasses the sub octave, drive and compressor controls on the amp, which I do sometimes like to use.
When plugged in the front input these controls are available, as is the amp's EQ - giving more EQ possibilities?
Just wondering if there were any cons to using it in the front input? Are the preamps fighting each other?

Had one...always ran it into the input of every amp I used without incident. If you like the sound of your amp's pre, no reason you can't use the Microbass with it, too. Preamps don't fight each other unless you set them to fight each other.

Thanks Jimmy, I remember you posting about them in the past.
Helpful as always, cheers.
