especially the first seconds of "womb disease" sounds really great.
so which pedal would you recommend?

my other equipment is:

Ibanez SR-1000 (B-Tuning)
ESP Viper (B-Tuning)
Ampeg SVP-Pro Preamp
QSC PLX-1804 poweramp
Warwick WCA 611-4Pro 6x10 Box

Sounds like a blended signal to me. I would try just a Sansamp BDDI first. You listed three WAAAAAY different pedals.

A Jacques Tubeblower would be perfect for this.

I know this is a little off topic, but can the tubeblower reach distortion territory with the gain cranked?

Ashdown James Lomenzo Hyperdrive is worth a look. Not heard it myself yet, but a few people have bought it and are raving about it, no negative comments heard so far. It has an adjustable bandpass filter where only the midrange is distorted, keeping your lows intact. Tempted to pick one up myself!

I personally have two of those pedals on my board (MXR & PD7) and they are completely different pedals, with different functions.

Regarding getting that Bury Your Dead sound, I'd recommend the PD7. The blowtorch is a fuzz pedal and won't get anything close to that sound. I also recommend the Sansamp. I have no experience with the EBS pedal so I can't say.

Out of the pedals you've listed, I'll also have to say the PD7 ought to be more in the realm of what you're looking for.

I really like the EBS MultiDrive!
I am using it for 6 month in rehearsals and gigs.
It can give you a tube-ish crispy sound,or a solid drive or fuzzish-distortion.
Beside the fact it can give all sorts of drives/distortions it gives a really nice boost to your sound.
I think its the one of the best drives you can get, also the Ebs ValveDrive which is better if you want only the tube-ish drive sound.

Hardly. It can bsound mean but it's still an overdrive, with an angry tubey tone.

Of the pedals you've listed, I'd say the Multidrive (on the Tubesim setting) would get you closest. What I'm hearing on that recording is a downtuned bass or a fiver with low tension (based on the string noise) through a tube amp with the EQ fairly midscooped and a somewhat aggressive fingerstyle attack.

The PD-7 and Blowtorch, despite being marketed as overdrives, are too fuzzy IMO for what you want.

I'd second the SansAmp recommendation and while I have no experience with it personally, the Jacques Tubeblower looks like an interesting option as well.
