EBS Multicomp or Markbass Compressore

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been researching and looking for reviews all over. I have also read bongos reviews for compressors. Well, I finally decided to buy a compressor but I'm undecided on which one to buy, EBS Multicomp or Markbass Compressore? I know both are great, but if you had to choose between this two, which would you pick? thanks in advance to all. (I have a warwick 5 string corvette standard, carvin bx1200 head and carvin brx 10.4, a beast, if that helps deciding).

I swear Talkbass has had compressor fever for the past month, and I do too. Dang it Bongo, I think this is all your fault!

That said, I don't think anyone really knows yet... besides Bongo. The next shipment of Compressores are scheduled for March 31. Its almost like asking for a review of an album not yet released, dig?

For what its worth though, I like the fact that the Compressore has a tube and 5 knobs. If I'm gonna buy a pedal that I can't tell when its turned on, I at least want it to have a bunch of things to fiddle with. It really does look like a cool pedal and I'm impressed with Markbass's product line in general. I'm thinking about pre-odering one just to make sure I get one in this batch, unless someone has the MB Compressore hook-up

One thing I'm curious about is will it be compatible with 12V power bricks, like the more powerful T-Rex Fuel Tank products.

haha. That really made me laugh. 'cause its true.

I wish there was a site like ovnilab for every effect. I suppose there's Bassfuzz.com for fuzz/distortion. We need one for delays, flanger, loop, etc....

now back to your regularly scheduled thread...

I use the Multicomp with settings similar to Bongo's recommended settings and it gives me what I like, almost transparent operation. I use the multiband mode. I'm really happy with this one.

On the EBS, I use multiband on my active Lakland 55-94, but normal on my Lakland JO5 jazz bass. The Fralins PUPs on the JAzz did not like multiband. Haven't seen the MB product.

The sheer size of the Compressore and power requirement manages to keep it off my interest list. Especially compared to the small size of the EBS.
