EBS Multicomp settings

Sign in to disble this ad
For those who have an EBS Multicomp what are the prefered settings you use? I have been using mostly the tube settings which work pretty good with my Stingray 4 to "warm" up the edge the Stingray produces. I just wandering what other users settings are.

it all starts with getting the trim pots dialed in to match your input level. From there I think the settings a 100% subjective to the nuances of your bass, amp, style, strings, and ear.

That being said, the only setting I shy away from is running the comp any higher than about 2:00 in the tube or normal mode. It just rolls off way too much high end for my taste and sounds too... "effecty"

It's a great "leave it on" pedal for smoothing out and cutting through.

I usually have mine set to tube sim, but I'm with J, I don't usually go above 12 o'clock on the compression knob, usually no more than about 9-10 o'clock for the gain. Oh, don't forget the active/passive switch on the side, either!

Interesing thread, was wondering about this over morning coffee.

I have mine on tubesim, comp at noon and gain at 10. For now. Passive bass, so I've not toyed with the trim pots inside (think I got that from reading Bongo's review on said unit).

Should I have adjusted the trim pots ?

Anyhoo....

I was putting comp and gain at noon, but last week, found that comp level muffling me (we went from 6 people to 7 people for the night, and the djembe player next to my amp interacted in weird ways with my tone) - so I dropped comp down to 10 or 10:30. Fixed my problem.

I have comp at about 2 o'clock and gain at 10 o'clock with a passive bass. Haven't yet fiddled with the internal trimpots 'cause I like it just the way it is..

I leave the Comp at 2:30 and the gain at 10. I have both trim pots at 12 with the pedal on active in multi mode.

I bought mine one week ago so it's still difficult to tell which settings I prefer.
I like the tubesim setting, with the comp around 12/1 o'clock and the gain around 9

I use mutli-band with compression at 3:00 and gain to unity.

So MultiComp users, does this thingy function as a boost as well? I mean can you get a louder signal than what you feed it with a relatively low compression setting?

I set mine to tubesim with the comp at noon and the gain to unity. I also leave it on passive, despite using active basses. It's nice and thick at these settings, with just enough compression that you can hear it working.

Jesterbass - yes you can.

I leave mine on all the time, on multiband. Comp/Limit at about 10:30 and gain on 10:00, active switch on. I use Tubism sometimes, I do like the sound of it but prefer multiband.
