EBS multidrive to warm up a cold and sterile amp?

I love my EBS pedal because it sounds great... with the right settings it can make my markbass sound like an SVT. Unfortunately when I play at church, I don't bring my own amp because it'd just be too much of a hassle. We have one of the newer SWR Workingman 210 combos. It's a decent amp with enough volume for the setting, but it is cold and sterile as all get out. So I was wondering if I could set my multidrive on the tubesim or standard setting at a relatively low setting so it's not dirty, but just warm, so the amp sounds a little more warm and round. Don't even want it to distort really. I used to play through a sansamp and try to do the same thing, but it ended up coming out sounding like a cold and sterile sansamp...

Anyone have experience doing this or using a similar pedal just to change the basic tonal characteristics of an amp?

So ... uh ... I've heard that the MultiDrive sounds great alone, but you get totally lost in the mix in a band context. True?

Depends on your bass. Both of my main basses are very mid focused and it would take a lot more than a pedal to get lost in the mix... usually a dead battery . I could see how a P bass sound could get buried though.

I have both the Sansamp and the Multidrive, and yes, I tend to get buried in a bandsituation with the Multidrive. However, I cut through a lot better with the Sansamp.

I liked the MultiDrive, but the real secret weapon you want is the ValveDrive. That sucker will warm up the coldest, most sterile amp, and it doesn't have to be all that gritty, unless you want it. The 3 band passive eq is a little bit lame, but it works. I'm tellin' ya, this is a magical pedal.
