EBS octabass--battery cable not factory wired?

Sign in to disble this ad
Some guy told me that his EBS Octabass wouldn't run off of a battery--since one of the wires to the battery terminal wasn't connected--and it looked like it had never been connected at the factory.

Is that possible? Does EBS just not connect their battery terminals for some reason? Or did that wire just come apart somewhere in shipping or usage?

The definitely come from the factory connected. Could have been a factory screw up, but more likely someone did it on purpose or accidentally after it left the factory.

Interesting....my Octabass came with a 9 volt battery installed when I bought it. Worked fine.

OK, sounds like must have been messed up in handling somewhere.

That's a relief!

Hello. I guess this thread was the best place to post this question rather than starting a new thread. I was wondering if any body has or can post a picture of the inside circuit card and wiring connections of an EBS Ocatabass. I recently bought one that wasn't working for 10 bucks hoping to fix it. Nothing looks burnt or blown on the inside. But I did notice that one side of the switch is not connected to anywhere on th board. If you are looking where the back plate is taken off and the backside of the circuit is exposed, the right side connections on the switch is connected to the board, but the left side is not. I can tell that there was something originally connected to the two solder leads marked + and - on the left side of the circuit card, but I am not sure what it was. Is the switch connected to these leads/runs, and/or was this where the battery connected.
