EBS Valve Drive sound sample here.

Hello !

For those who are interested i have a sound sample of EBS Valve Drive.
The equpment used is:
-Warwick streamer LX5 75% neck pickup - on passive mode
-EBS valve drive - vintage mode : mids full on, bass 7-8 o'clock, highs 2 o'clock, gain 12-1 o'clock
-amp: Trace Elliot V-Type all tubes
-cabinet: Ampeg SVT 410HE
The microphones used was: Shure sm57 and beta52
I know it sounds weird without guitars If you want to hear the whole song check the myspace link from my signature, the song is called Pendulum. I mention that in the version from myspace the distortion is blended with DI.

Sounds really good. That drummer's a bit stiff though.

If you don't mind recording a clip with the settings at.
Modern mode
Bass - 11 o'clock
Mid - 1 o'clock
Treble - 9 o'clock
Gain - Full on
I think a lot of people will love that setting.

I noticed you are using the Valvedrive with yor Warwick in passive mode and I was wondering if you, or anyone else, could tell me how it responds when using an active bass.

Thanks!

When i use my Warwick on active mode the sound is somehow more compresed... I like it better on passive mode. But the pickups are still active even in passive mode. In passive mode i bypass just the preamp.

Thanx for sharing

I actually have the Valve Drive, but not found the ultimate tone for it yet. This sample and the suggested settings pushed me towards using the Valve Drive even more.

Oh hell... you just made me pull the trigger on buying the thing. Exactly the kind of OD i'm looking for.

Thing is I'll probably need to sell one of my kidneys to pay for that expensive bastard.

Hooray for GAS...

Like the tone solo, but in the actual mix on your myspace the bass was IMHO non-existent while the drums remained hot and upfront. Shame.

None of you noticed this part???? His clip does not demonstrate the sound of the pedal. "Organic" is the sound of the all-tube amp through a miked Ampeg cab. He could be playing through a Kazoo-brand Suckulizer pedal and it would sound "organic".
