EBS Wah One problem: snap, crackle & pop

Bought an EBS Wah One on e-bay and it's just what I was looking for sonically, but there's a problem. When in wah mode, there is a crackling - a signal breakup - that is definitely not part of the intended effect. I have e-mailed EBS about this, but in the meantime - has anyone had this in the past? Any idea what it might be?

yeah - it's fine in clean mode. Only happens when you go into wah mode. Plus I use these leads all the time, they're fine.

Sounds like the pot is dirty.

Probably a dirty pot or problems with the switch. I had to replace my switch 3 times - the early switches they used were really crappy. They use better ones nowadays. Their customer service is good though - they sent me a replacement switch and a simple diagram to follow so I could fix it myself (saved postage!) I'd never soldered a pedal before this so it wasn't that difficult a fix.
