I have never played any classical music before - this is my very first attempt (on any instrument!) - so don't expect Pau Casals, but the Eden sounds great!

Wow man! That was great! I really like your tone and playing! welcome #29!

Thanks, Jdog! It was quite a lobor of love - I'd never done anything like it before. It was quite a steep learning curve!

Thanks, Thumpin_P! That's great to hear!

For many years, I played rock, jazz, blues, funk, etc., but never classical. I recommend trying it out; it sure helped with discipline and accuracy, and it opens you up to a lot of great ideas.

Hey guys. Got mine a few days ago, toyed with it for a few hours and brought it to my first gig after 12 years. Never had much love for stompboxes, but I was supremely impressed by the tone the WTDI delivers.

Anyway, here's mine:

So can I get (pick?) a number?

Just a note for all you members here...someone needs to put together a thorough video walking through this pedal. There literally is nothing out there in english to really explain this pedal with good quality video and audio. It seems like there has to be a little bit of a guide to using the Master/Gain knobs and the few other nuances to this particular pedal that should be explained.

I've been so surprised that Eden or any of the excellent guys here have put this through the paces on camera (or Soundcloud) like every other pedal out there has been.

I would be very interested to see something like this. I've looking to buy one for a while, but haven't seen anything that A/B's it with another DI pedal or what tonal improvements it brings vs dry signal.

Just some thoughts for anyone who has the equipment and time to do this...

Hey that's fine...either way it's happening. Just a thought...maybe you could combine some of the explanations that people have given on this thread and any other WTDI threads of places it seems like people got confused or had problems. This unit seems like it needs to be explained as well as demonstrated.

Thanks in advance!

I just ordered one last night, I can't wait for it to arrive. It would have suited my needs better if it were in a 1u rack space. But, from what I've heard from the WTDI I can live with the stompbox design for that tone.

Is anyone here running this thing through the effects loop of their amps downstream of the amps Pre? Or are the WTDI's intended to go strickly from Bass>WTDI>Amp. I hear these boxes can distort easily, sending a Preamp into it will probably make that sensitivity worse.... I'll just have to play it by ear when it gets here.

EDIT:

Mine just arrived today. I'm really happy with it, glad to have a piece of Eden tone shaping in my rig. I'm still experimenting with where and how in the signal chain this piece fits best. I now have it in the effects loop of the M-2000 and it's output matched with the Mesa's.... With the Mesa's effects blend control, not only can I mix the Mesa's tube & FET channel but I can also blend in any portion of the Edens tone too (granted it's downstream of the Mesa preamps too).

Got rid of mine, that blue light was making me blind. And how much preamp do you need. I have one in my bass, one in my amp that also has compression. Became completely useless.

A short review of the new WTDI

- Very nice build, should last forever.
- Tone control very good, as expected.
- I did some measurements and there is almost no noise.

As for mods, I guess I changed my plans, because I must have a newer release
- the blinding blue LED has been replaced by a red one, which is a s bright as the other one.
- tuner out is impossible, because there is not enough space in the box
- therefore the mute to tune is not necessary
- the input for the supply has been changed as well. There is now a bridge rectifier, so you can use any power supply, AC, DC with pin positive or DC with pin negative, great job Eden!
- only open point is the input, my test bass (Kent Armstrong Humbucker with Aguilar OBP-3) sounds fine till 9:00. So I maybe add an input pad

Overall a great piece of gear!!!

Ok guys...so I just sold my Ampeg SVP-CL and I am about to do something crazy for a rig....use my EV powered mains and an EV powered sub as my bass rig....Could I just use this literally as a preamp for now just to be able to color the sound oh-so-slightly? I was just going to stick it on my pedal board and just play play play.

The only problem I can see is how you're going to split the signal up for the sub woofer and two separate mains. The WTDI has one XLR out that could go to one of the mains and a 1/4 " that could feed the sub. Do the powered mains have a signal pass through?
