Joseph tours with Steve Miller and Victor, and when he's not on tour, he plays every Wednesday night in Nashville with the Wooten Brothers Band. They're all really nice guys, so I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. He might answer a myspace message, or you could check out his website. It's www.handsofsoul.com. There's a contact section. |

My god, there is so much emotional complexity in these basslines. They seem so complicated to me as I never have learned to play either of these genres of music.

The vocal effect sounded like that simple gadget that is a speaker that outputs to a long tube that you hold in your mouth and then mouth the words. These were used pre-vocoder, but they have a distinct sound.
Peter Frampton used this quite a lot.

Vocoders are freakin' sweet. |

Amazing! | Ah, that answers a mystery I always wondered about, but didn't care enough about to actually look for the answer. I always thought Vic was Future Man, but then there was never any mention of that persona or instrument in the countless threads here about Vic.
I suppose you can tell that I'm not a big Wooten afficionado. |
