Effects to amp to mixer question

hi im playing a gig in wednesday, and im thinking of running this effects chain:
Bass - amp - effects - mixer - pa system.
will that work running effects into the mixer or should i just go
bass - effects - amp - mixer - pa system?
post if u have any other ideas that could work as well

Depends on the effects. Distortion and fuzz for example can come off as harsh and trebbily if not run through speakers first. Plus does the effects have enough out
Put to go straight to the board?

im running distortion - wah - multi effects processor, i'll be able to connect it to the board

run the fx before the amp, take a DI from the amp.
