I probably should have asked this earlier but....
Anyone have any recommendations for music shops in the Nashville area with a good selection of pedals? I'm down here for the day checking out effects and basses. What a way to spend a vacation, huh?

Guitar Center just south of down town.
Nashville Used Music further south of there on Nolensville road.
And of course Low End in Murfreesboro which NONE of the others can compare to bass-wise. Just don't expect to escape low-end without your gas-meter pegged. It's ridiculous when everything isn't on it's way to a show somewhere.
There also at least 2 other shops in Murfreesboro: Chambers Guitars, and Johnny's guitars... neither of which handles much bass-wise that I've ever encountered.
Can't really help you with all the private ones around Nashvegas. |

I mean, if he has no family stuff goin' on or whatever, he's very cool and good to his customers actual or potential. Awesome guy, great shop.

Stopped by Bowling Green and picked up a friend of mine and we hit Gruhn Guitars on Broadway but there wasn't much of interest there, it was definitely more geared toward the Nashville scene (imagine that!). Hit GC and it was, well, it was a GC....Debating on Sam Ash right now, stopped by Corner Music hoping to catch a Jaguar out and about. Nope.
Went to Great Escape (we've got one up in Louisville too) and picked up some old OOP CDs so the day wasn't a total loss.

Vanderbilt area on Eliston Pl.
Great selection of standard and boutique pedals.
A few nice basses too.

They have the best selection in town & the most knowledge. Ask for Chris if he is working. Rock Block's selection of basses is horrible, however. If you're lucky they will have another Orange AD200 amp in stock to use!!!
Corner Music has a good selection of instruments. Lots of Fender's, a few Sadowsky's, some really nice Music Man basses and others.... If you go, make sure you try the AER AmpOne combo - I don't really dig micro-amps, but the AER is amazing!!!!
The LowEnd down in Murfreesboro is cool - pretty much all uber-high end instruments. It's worth visiting just to see something different. Brian seems to cater more to collectors and enthusiasts, however so don't expect any crazy deals! Also they have very few amps & virtually no pedals (other than the custom True-Voice pre). |

+1 to all of this.
Rock Block is the reason that I've played virtually every boutique pedal that I have, particularly Z Vex stuff.
Corner is really nice, but nothing really crazy. Fenders, MusicMans, and Sadowskys mostly. Amps pretty much just Ampeg, Genz Benz, and Eden, but a fair amount of more Mass Produced pedals (Fulltone, Boss, EHX).
And Brian is a really nice guy. Took an hour out of his day to open up, let me in, and play basses that I knew I couldn't buy (this was somewhere around three years ago, so I was a wee one, perhaps as young as 14).
