Effects chain order?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just posting does anybody have a good idea of which effects work best in the order of placing? I have read a few things that its a trial and error, but i have got a new pedal board so was looking at fixing them permanetly.

here is a list of effects i will be using- firstly the pedal board is a mks pedal pad xl which power block and stereo routing block.(not sure i will use the stereo routing) Amp= ampeg svt4pro, with 2x410" ampeg BXT cabs.

Effects as follows, tjhis is the order i was considering--

looper pedal with 2xloops(i was only going to use 1 loop)
digitech whammy-to
dod envelope filter-to
maxon bass eq-to
dave hall valve distortion-to
boss bf2b flanger-to
boss dd3 delay-to
boss bass chorus-back to loop pedal

i also have a boss tu2 tuner but unsure where would be best to put it in the chain, also was usure about using the bypass with the tuner? any ideas or suggestions would be great cheers

I think what Ayliffe is trying to say somewhat obliquely, is that this is one of the top 3 questions on TB (the others are maple or rosewood and P or J) and if you use the TB search function, you'll find more threads than be counted that have been started on the topic.

That said... my signal chain goes: guitar>tuner>dirt>octave>dirt>filter>phase>amp.

I have found that some fuzzes like to be first in line.
You don't have any fuzz listed.
Too bad.
