Effects Inline or use Amp Effects Loop (3 Dunlop Pedals)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I use an Ampeg SVT-6PRO amp, which has an effects in/out loop option to use on the back instead of using the effects inline from bass to Amp.

Should I use that loop on the back of the amp? Is it better?

I use the following pedals:
  • MXR M-117R Flanger Guitar Effect Pedal
  • MXR M-182 El Grande Bass Fuzz
  • MXR M-188 Bass Auto Q, Effect Pedal

And they are currently used inline as follows:

<-To Amp----Flanger--Fuzz--AutoQ----< Bass

If any, I use Flanger the most, then maybe Flanger + Fuzz, and at times Fuzz only.

Do you guys recommend making any tweaks to the configuration?

Thanks!

No, the loop is ideally suited to line level signals, (rack mounted effects). Your instrument level stompboxes will work best in front of the amp, the main input. Of course, no harm trying it out if you want.
You might also want to try the fuzz before the auto-q, for kicks.
