Effects light on, even when off !!

I’ve got an old DOD bass chorus and even when switched off the light was on, though a little dimmer then when the pedal was actually in use. Jack leads were connected. I wondered if the batter was on the way out so I changed it and it seems OK now but can a dying battery cause this?

I had an old baby blue DOD Chorus pedal that used to do the same exact thing.
Why? I don't know.

So was it only when you had the old bettery in that this problem occured?

That wouldn't make sense since you LED is drawing more current, sounds more like an internal LED/Bypass issue.

Yes, when I put the new battery in it stopped

I'll keep an eye on it to see if it happens again.

Hm, let me know. Maybe the low battery is allowing a capacitor to discharge its dc voltage, but I doubt it. Thats weird man

Sounds like your pedal is asking you to buy it a pedalboard, some friends, and either a daisy chain or power brick...

It's a low-power indicator. Switch out your battery.

Yup! All Of my DOD pedals did the same thing eventually. So I threw them away and have not bought one since.

i know men are famous for not reading the directions, but don't ANY of you read the booklets that come with your pedals?

yea... that light? means the pedal is going to explode... go buy an electro-harmonix or boss and do yourself a favor. they don't explode.

no, seriously, i think my drummer could have told you it was the low battery indicator.
