Effects loop question/help.

Sign in to disble this ad
So ive been playing for awhile, and i just recently built a decent beginner pedal board. and i was wondering what i would gain from running some of my pedals through the effects loop on my Acoustic b200h head?

here is my current chain

tuner -> bbe optostomp -> bass big muff pi -> delta labs (tube screamer -> Sans amp PDDI -> boss odb-3 -> boss bass eq -> morely volume

what are some pedals that would be better off on the effects loop?
i heard the sans amp is one.

whats your take?

None of them. Almost all pedal effects are designed to go in front of an amp, not in its effects loop. Rackmount effects that run at line level are primarily the items that you would run in an effects loop (and usually consist of delays and modulations that benefit from the cleaner signal you get by running through an effects loop that circumvents your amp's preamp)- your pedals run at instrument level.

I run all my pedals (except my wah) through my effects loop, and they sound great... I don't have any problems at all.

I am currently using a big muff bass, small clone, mxr evh phase 90, malekko ekko 616 through my loop in that order. My amp has a tuner out, so I use that for my korg pitchblack.
