Well, J. Crawford sent me a pm a long time ago telling me what I would want. So me being me I accidentally deleted it... I member some of what he said:
I might want
Fuzz
Wah
and a bunch of others I might want (can't member)
So I liked the Bootzilla pedal when I tried it but he said it was poorly made. I also like the sound of the fender sub-lime fuzz and the B;assmaster thing.
So I'm not sure what to ask (See title of thread) hope you guys can help!
Thanks |

I think most of us did it that way.
I know I started my love of effects with one of those small Zoom multi-effects.
Then got a distortion pedal... then a phaser... and it went downhill to a big collection after that.
Might I suggest look around for a used Line 6 Bass Pod XT.
I always thought their modelled effects sounded really nice.
And then you can figure out which seperate pedals deserve real estate on a possible pedalboard.
Oh... and wah... easy to use and good sounding: Ibanez Weeping Demon is nice to start with. Or Morley. |

Look up.
SubDecay Noise Box?
Crowther Prunes & Custard?
Electro-Harmonix Bass Balls?

cos a devi ever eye of god would come into this
p.s. its a feedback loop with a light controlled expression part...
or running an octaver (either down or up) + fuzz/distortion/OD into chorus + delay (or multiple delays) = noises that make your gead go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM

Fuzz: start digging through Bassfuzz.com and TB wiki for samples to get an Idea of what type of fuzz sound you like. |

But I want a funky sound also, will I have to get two?I've looked around at fuzz pedals and so far I like the fender sub-lime but I might find one way better. And what kinda pedal is the b;assmaster, cause I want one of those? And J says the boostszilla is cheaply made... any comments? |

You're in Houston, there's got to be at least one or two guitar shops down there that you can go and try out all the pedals you like. |

I've played the bootzilla (teacher owns one) and it sounded great, I just don't want it fallin apart on me. Quote:

Thier biggest problem is the wires that come up to the LED's in the footpedal itself, they snap easy, and are really 'effin hard to fix......
Immense tone, though.

Also, they are a bit too subtle for me, especially in a band setting. IMO, a wah should be one of the least subtle effects on your board. Don't let that discourage you though. the subtlty is the exact reason my teacher loves his.
A Morley Dual Bass Wah in the classic setting (or whatever they call the one that isn'y the funk setting) is more of a rock sound, just as a point of reference. Don't get one though. The sweep range sucks. If you like that sound get an older Morley, the ones that came in the huge silver housing, like the PWB.
I think a good wah for you would be the Ibanez Weeping Demon. Its very versatile, and even cheaper than the Crybaby Quote:

While there aren't a lot of clones out there, the B:assmaster is one of the best on the market, and an exact copy of the original. If you like that general sound, the Wounded Paw Attack Goat is part of the Brassmaster family, though not a clone per se. More like how the flute is considered a member of the woodwind family.
You might also want to check out a Fuzz Face, its in a similar vein.

BYOC (buily your own clone) has clones of most popular pedals, axeandyoushallreceive will actually sell you prebuilt versions if you don't want to build them yourself...
I second bassduzz.com though, fuzz can be a wide world unto itself, mostly dependant on the tone, versatility and what setting you play in... everytime you think its all been covered someone else bring up a slightly different design that sounds awesome... probably why some of us officially have too many dirt pedals (I knwo I do now!)!
weeping demon is an awesome pedal, its optical (so no worry about breaking stuff or scratchy pots) and you can change every parameter including wether its in switch mode or switchless
