Effects pedal that gets Taurus pedal sound

I've seen the Markbass Bass Synth can get the Moog Taurus pedal sound but it's pricey in Canada.
Has anyone got a similar effect (think Rush's Taurus pedal sounds in the '70s both high and low notes) with Ibanez SB7, Digitech Bass Synth Wah, Boss Bass Synthesizer or Behringer Bass Synth? Or any other units I should consider?
Thx.

Nothing but a Taurus will sound like a Taurus, but the Ehx BMS is a pretty darn good synth "effect". Just know that no effect pedal will ever reproduce the sound of an actual synthesizer.

so true.....but as long as you live with that you CAN produce some awesome synth tones with a whole punch of pedals out there!

For Taurus the closest I've ever heard was a EHX Bass Micro Synth...I personally run an aggressive compressed fuzz (Way Huge Swollen Pickle) into the filter sweep mode on the Behringer BSY-600: sounds massive!

Another option is to try an octaver -> fuzz -> envelope filter.

It may give you a broader range of tones than just the EHX Microsynth (which is a great pedal).

Why? A new one won't sound like a Taurus?

You're right about the Mark Bass Super Synth. Out of all the synth pedals (except maybe the Deep Impact), it's the only one that can detune its three oscillators for a thick sound.

The EHX Microsynth is a great pedal with a nice filter, but it doesn't have true oscillators, so can't get a thick detuned effect.

Just ending this thread:
I tried the Behringer BSY-600 and the EH BMS with interesting results but I was, optimistically, hoping the bass synths would change my bass to sound less 'stringy' and more 'synthy' sounding. The other issue I had was I was trying to emulate Spirit of Radio's bass pedals during the "Invisible airwaves, crackle with life..." which meant I had to hold down the deep bass pedals (E, Fsharp, Gsharp) notes and then hammer-on the higher same bass notes at the same time - neither bass synth would track two notes. I returned both units. I've just gone with a chorus pedal to thicken and colour the sound.
Thanks to all who chimed in and all the other folks I pm'd.
