Will it work... I suppose...

Will it work... well? Depends on your definition. The Behringer effects are pretty cheap, as are their amps, so if you're lookin' for good tone you'd probably wanna upgrade to another brand that's a bit more reliable and whatnot first.

that much Behringer in one place will collapse the waveform of spacetime, and shift the continuum from 'blow' to 'suck'

It's a little known fact that Behringer units cancel each other out, so using those two components you would be left with nothing at all. You could add a third Behringer to them, which (in theory) would bring you back to the sound you had in the first place, but no researcher has survived long enough to test that theory.

Well, you know... I'm not sure if an effects pedal was designed to work with amplification... I thought they made noises by themselves!

If you're looking for a solid/reliable overdrive sound on the cheap... I would go with a DOD 250 or a Digitech Bad Monkey.

In all seriousness, now that we've joked with you a bit, your next step is to search on those items in this forum by using the "Google Talkbass" advanced search function. Search on terms like "ODB3" and "BOD100", and while you're at it check out general terms like "overdrive" and "distortion" to see what all people recommend in those categories. Good luck!

Read my previous post. I mentioned two pedals that seem to get good reviews by bass players.

Another vote for the DOD 250

I used to use it with a Behringer BX1200 combo I had for practice. It worked

The DOD 250 is actually (much) less expensive than the ODB3.

If it turns out you like the ODB3 better, then go with that, but many people around this forum will tell you that they prefer the DOD 250, so it is at least worth checking out.

The Little Big Muff also seems to provide quite a lot of bang for the bucks, I suggest you check out some sound samples and see what you like. Good luck!
