| I would go:
bass --> EHX --> Akai --> (Akai effect out) --> Pod --> Ashdown effects loop return
That way you bypass the Ashdown's onboard preamp, using the Pod as a preamp and avoiding any extra noise or EQ problems from running the two preamps in series. Note that in this config. nothing is plugged into the main instrument input of your amp.
If that weirds you out, or if you are just using the Pod for effects and not for amp modeling, then you could send its output to the main instrument input on the amp instead of to the effects return jack.
The "best" way to use the clean and effected outputs on the Akai is if you send the effected output to a separate guitar amp, and the clean output to your bass amp. The reason I didn't describe it that way in the suggestion above was you didn't mention having a separate guitar amp. |
