effects processors for tone

i was looking at a few multi-effects pedals earlier. alot of reviews ive read say that many multi-effects pedals sound too digital and make it hard to get real bass tone. so ive decided that id rather use stompboxes for major effects (distortion and the like), and i dont particularly enjoy needing to cycle through 50 presets to find the sound i want. then i noticed the line 6 floor bass pod. it doesnt really have that maby effects built in, but its got a few amp models and eq settings that i could imagine myself using. its got a built-in wah/expression/volume pedal, so thats a plus. although how good the wah function is will determine if i buy a dedicated wah pedal later on. ive read alot of good things about zoom pedals as well. are there any others? id like to be able to control it with my foot, an added expression pedal is a huge plus, and im looking for tone variations, not necesarily effects. and id rather not spend over $150. i dont care if its used though, as long as it works

I have/had (selling it) a Zoom B2. It gets a great tube emulation sound. The sansamp model is pretty good but some of the models are pointless like some of the synths.

Also some of the presets are REALLY bad.

I also had a Bass POD XT, I was looking at another one since my local GC has one for $99

It was a great Pre to run in front of my mesa when i had it. However it sounded cold and sterile through a GK. It was pretty good and I shouldnt have sold it.

I also had a Toneworks AX3B before I smashed it in a fit of rage...uh it didnt sound very good and I had some problems with it...
