Effects Question (Digitech BP90)

I'm wondering how I can get a really distorted tone. I messed around with it and the manual for a few hours, but couldn't get the tone I was looking for. I'm kind of new to really learning how effects work. (If there's a good site for learning stuff like this a link to it would be awesome) Any help would be appreciated.

I would just go get a distortion pedal. Find the one that suits your needs. It may take some time.

That depends on your definition of a really distorted sound. if your idea of a really distorted sound is a fizzy high-gained distortion, try using the ehx big muff model or the digifuzz model on your digitech bp90. set the distortion level to probably 70% or 80% and set-up the eq to your liking. but make sure that there's plenty of lows. if you experience low-end losses, purchase a boss ls-2 line selector. that pedal can help you mix the dry signal of your original bass sound with the effected signal of the distortion effect you use.

Thanks, man - helped a lot. I decided to go with the Boss distortion.

I have a BP90, search for the specs on a BP80. Digitech didn't list the preset effects in the 90 manual but they did in the 80 and they are the same. You can have my 90, get the individual boxes. Boss is not the best of breed but it will get you started
