Yes, yes, I know this topic has been done to death. I've read the FAQs and done a search, but i'm wondering if anyone has any input on this particular setup.
Big muff black russian
Boss BF-3 flanger
Dunlop cry-baby bass
Peterson strobostomp tuner
Appreciate any and all opinions!
Thanks, Lenny.

Sigh, should I just pull the thread now?

I should explain......had knee surgery, stuck at home bored out of my mind, and my leg is sore so I don't really feel like mucking around with different pedal combos at the moment. That's why I posted this topic again I guess.
Thanks for the replies guys.

I just started a new project with some guys, and both guitar players have crazy pedal boards so I thought I would bust out some effects as well. The flanger and big muff I use when I play guitar, and I just got the wah, so I don't have any experience with bass and effects. Not even sure I really need them to be honest, just playing around with ideas at this point.

Parallel signals are split somewhere in your chain, run simultaneously through different effect chains, then put back together (like multiple intstruments through a mixer). As an example you could run one channel through the muff and the wah while running the other through the flanger alone. Here you could have subtle consistent swirly pretties in the background while simultaneously brutalizing your audience with the fuzzy wah. Where I like using parallel signals the best is with pitch shifting and octave dividing (run octave down in parallel with an envelope filter is a really cool sound), but there are many options for cool subtle sounds with parallel processing that you just wont get with series signals.
Some dual parallel loopers are the Badger Schism, Boss LS-2, Wounded Paw Super Blender (triple parallel looper on the Wounded Paw!). These will be your easiest route to parallel processing, but not your only route.
Still, for your current needs, I'd probably go Muff-> Wah-> Flange or Muff -> Flange -> Wah ->. I'm not a big fan of subtlety (if I'm going to use an effect, y'all are going to know it's on!!!) and putting a flanger or wah after distortion is un-subtle. |

I almost pulled the trigger on the battering ram a couple of weeks ago, but in the end I figured I'd better hold off and see how much I actually use the big muff before I drop that kind of cash on a new fuzz.
Once I'm back on my feet i'll do some experimenting with those combinations, see what I like best.
Thanks again, Lenny.
