effects signal path

Quick question: I'm using an MXR M87 compressor and an Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal and was wonndering if it's better to have the compressor before or after the Aguilar preamp. Thanks in advance.

If those are the only two pedals in your chain, I'd probably put the compressor first, but it doesn't hurt to experiment.

I agree with Copperhead, though I doubt you'll notice a necessary difference.
I go comp first always, but it doesn't work for everyone!

In your case it probably doesn't matter. I prefer comp last since I have some effects that play off the dynamics of my playing that wouldn't work if everything was compressed evenly (ish).
