Effects for vocals anyone?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, we just made this new band (www.myspace.com/destroyingcy) and I m the singer. I m in a search of finding some good effects, maybe a multieffect pedal or something. For experimentation mostly...
I ve come across some pedals that worth 200-300euros to 500-700euros (digitech, TC electronics pedals), and I m not quite sure if I want to spend so much money for just some experimentation. So I have found the Behringer DSP2024P Virtualizer Pro which is very cheap (100euros) and has loads of effects to play around. Its not a pedal but you cant have it all!
Anyone used this for vocals before? Also if anyone knows any other pedal or rackmount multieffect processor thats suitable for voice too, please let me know. Must have the usual reverb, delays and stuff, plus a couple of distortions etc.
Respect, D.

p.s. no i m not quitting bass! ;p

EHX and KORG look ok and reaaaally weird hehe... but up to now nothing beats the variety and price of the Behringer DSP2024P Virtualizer Pro. If I dont something else I ll probably buy it this next week, or atleast try it at the local store... and then buy it hehe...

I don't know if it would work, but I would think a very short delay on vocals would give a doubled effect.

They did this on a lot of Sun recordings.

Do you have effects pedals already? I'm sure you still want to use them for your bass but I would use an aux send on the mixer the mic is plugged into to run the vocals through the pedal board and see what I liked.

find yourself an alesis metavox! they go for about 200 and they are a VERY flexible vocoder effect.

And if you don't like it, send it to me!

You can get the digitech vocal processor 300 for under $100 used. It is pretty good and very versatile. I use it in my experimental electronic band.

yeah I have some pedals (I m selling them btw, see my signature), I ve used all of them for vocals... they re just wrong! They are perfect for bass and even guitar, but for vocals almost useless.

Actually that was my first option. Now its my second option.
I ll probably stick with the 100euro Bergi and probably a foot controller too.

Our singer uses a line6 echo park pedal and it's sounds awesome, can get loads of cool delays, reverbs and echos outta that thing. Always thought lo-fi sounded ace on vocals too, not sure what good low-fi pedals there are out there though, I'd say it doesn't matter how good it was cos it's for lo-fi but it still needs to sound good when it's off
