EH Neo Clone Analog Chorus

Sign in to disble this ad
anyone have any experience with this once? it sounds pretty good on guitar but cant find sound samples of it on bass. i heard lots of people use the small clone with bass but was hoping to stay in the neo clones price range without losing my low end and keeping a good sound.

i want a simple chorus to give that extra moody / the cure feel to some songs. you think the noe clone would do it? or should i shoot for the boss bass chorus?

by the way, of the 3 pedals i mentioned...do you all know if any have true bypass and or / lots of noise?

thanks

i cant exactly speak for the neo clone, but i do have a nano clone. I happen to like the sound on bass. There is a minor volume drop, nothing major, but noticeable. The biggest problem i had with it was nothing related to the sound, but rather that it was wired center pin positive (i think). Whichever it was, it was the opposite of the standard boss wiring and made it impossible to daisy chain.

if you have an isolated power source or plan to use batteries, i'd say go for it, i liked mine. If not, then i would look for another pedal

Neo Clone is NOT the Nano Clone.

I don't have much direct experience with either, but I'm pretty sure that the Neo is daisy-chainable where the Nano was not. The manual of the Nano expressly says daisy-chaining is inadvisable, where the Neo makes no mention of it.

Read about both the Neo and the Nano clone on Musician friend 2 days ago. The one review on the Neo mentionned loud popping / clicking sounds when turning the pedal on and off. Most (if not all) reviews on the Nano were not very positive, at best.

I've never used the Neo or Nano, but was considering the Neo because of its deep switch and the fact that the Analogman Chorus are inspired by this pedal (the analogman pedal is a little out of my range for now). That plan is now benched, for now anyways.

I have a few EHX pedals (Small Stone, BBM, Memory Toy, Bassballs) and like'em very much. I do have a clicking sound with the Stone, but not the other ones, they're very quiet.

I see the Small Clone on Ebay all the time for uber cheap. Thats where I got mine and I love it. If you have the room, go for the real deal.

The Neo is supposed to be a rehoused Small. The Nano is a different (and inferior) circuit.
