EHMM Hazarai question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I just picked up an Electro Harmonix Memory Man with Hazarai. Pretty cool pedal, I can get lots of sounds out of it. But I've got a question for those who own/have owned it.

Whenever I record a loop, there's always a slight delay when it goes back to the beginning. Is this normal? Is there anyway to fix it? Does this happen with most loopers, or is it just with this particular pedal?

I got it mostly for that, which I know I've read that it's not really something for hardcore looper junkies. However, I'm not a hardcore looper junkie, I just want a straight forward, record on the fly looper.

Thanks in advance

I used to have that problem. The trick is to release the loop switch at the PRECISE moment that you want it to stop. Any later and there will be a slight delay that pretty much ruins the loop's rhythm. It is all about timing and precision. It takes getting used to, but it's worth it.

What he said. It's a little tricky, but then, it's not a dedicated looper. But as far as delay's go, it's a champ.

Yeah, there's just a bit of a learning curve.

What he said.

The moment you take your foot off, the loop ends and starts playing back from the beginning. So if you take your foot off before the first beat of the next bar, your loop will be slightly too short. If you take it off after the first beat of the next bar, your loop will be slightly too long. This makes it sound a bit strange and out of time.

The best way I have found of making sure that the loop is perfectly in time is to play the first beat of the next bar, even though I don't want it looping. I just take my foot off the pedal as soon as I play the note. The note you have just played should be at exactly the same time as the first note in the loop. If that made sense to you.

Oh, and great choice of pedal by the way. I love mine!
