Question EHX bass big muff

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure whether this question goes in here or in amps but her goes anyway... i want to get a big bass muff.... i have a peavey mark vi head that has two input jacks... the bass big muff has 2 output jacks... one for the fuzz and one dry. can i plug both outputs of the big muff into both outputs of the amp head or is that a no no? the reviews I've come across mention bi-amping but i assumed that's meant two amps... not two inputs on the same amp...

In most cases this won't work, and it's certainly not 'as the lord intended'. That said, not being familiar with how the Peavy is wired, it could work... because some amps (esp older ones) were configured for the possibility of multiple instruments or and instrument and a mic.

thanks grygrx

i emailed you the same question to your bass fuzz sight.... here is a link to the owner's manual if that helps:

http://www.peavey.com/media/pdf/manuals/80300912.pdf

my goal is to run both the dirty and clean signals to the head then use the volume of the fuzzy signal kinda like a blend knob...

From the manual

Quote:
If both inputs are used simultaneously, the output levels are the same (low gain)
Seems like you it would work.

super shweet! thanks a lot! one more question
if my active p-bass pickups are wired to 18volts(two batteries) (emg-p's) how does the extra headroom affect the performance of the pedal?

Some pedals, fuzzes in particular get a little grumpy about active type basses. I gather it is more of an impedance issue than a output/volume issue, it seems to depend on the fuzz and the bass. I've not had issues with some pedals other people say they do with my active bass, but have had trouble with some.
