Love it, I bought mine about... (counting back the weeks, wow, it seems alot longer than that) a month ago, I think it's great. I read several places about the mod that can be done to replace the pots with full sized ones. I guess it sounds alot better although I have no complaints with mine other than that the auto-Wah isn't as clear with the distortion off, although I've just been using it with the distortion for the most part.

I love mine Especially with the distortion switch on

It does somewhat 'overpower' other effects like ODs and distrtions, but on its own it works great.

It is however, a one trick pony... it does one sound, but it does it very well

I have one and had the mod done, which still makes it a one-trick pony, but with trick variants. Sounds unique and works very well for me when looped and blended through a Boss LS-2. I never use the distortion switch.

If I can slide my way into some kind of funk band, it will be my A#1 filter. As it is I can't seem to nail a gig down so I'm using my M13 to cover filters and all other needs.

There's a bunch of clips in the effects wiki, I have one in there with the trimpot mod.

I have had trouble blending my bassballs. It sounds to me like I need a phase switch to do it right. Perhaps the older russian bassballs invert phase where the newer ones don't, though.

It makes this one crazyish sound, and I love it! After distortion it's my main effect (with the distortion mode on most of the time).

Great for solo stuff, not so great soundwise in a full band situation.

It's my all time favorite defect pedal, I own several including a modded 3 knob job. Getting the sensitivity just right is the main thing to really allow expressive play, I like the fuzz from time to time and prefer it after all the fuzz on my board. The 3 knob offers a good bit of control over the low and hi sweeps making it more of a synth sound and response.

It's a nice pedal, but, like Bruce said, it's a one-trick pony. I like the distortion option though.

Had one, sold it. Heard about the trimmer pot mod, bought it back, modded it (easy mod!) & now love it. It makes it a little more than a one trick pony w/the mod, much more tweakable.

Good sounding envelope filter. With only one knob and a switch, it's pretty simple. Supposedly you can adjust the frequencies with a screwdriver if you take off the back plate. Like everyone's saying though, not very practical for an everyday band. Great for funk though.

That's why a sensible amount of us Bassballs owners are doing the mod. We all hate to yell at singer to stretch his vocal solo while we unscrew the back plate, find the setting with the 2 adjustable pots and screw the plate back on again...

(sorry guys, just couldn't resist !)

You jerk! Jk Obviously I'm not implying you do it during a set. Simply saying you can change the sound a bit BEFORE you play.

But seriously man, you can have a mod done so you have access to pots from the outside, which gives the pedal a little more flexibility.

Check out The Atomic Bitchwax if you want a good approximation of it in a rock setting.
