I dont know how old your pedal is, I havnt used any EH pedals since the 1970's, but they were all notorious for loud pops when turning the pedal on. The problem is cheap switches getting dirty (remember that EH was considered a budget pedal during the 70s, Morley and MXR were pro units).

How much gain do you have dialed in? Muffs become micrphonic at high drive settings. I think.

At 1:05 you can see a muff being used as a drum. Is it similar to that?

like ry said, it's just what true bypass switches do!

no great mystery beyond that...

On Muffs the gain is the one labeled "sustain".

This. It's the switch itself. My $210 Jetter Gain Stage Gold does it too. It's not a flaw. It's a drawback of 3PDT true bypass switching.

Yea I talked to a known electronics guy...it is the switch, and not being true bypass....so I am having him do a truebypass system on it....on him recommendation...

The Bass Big Muff is indeed true bypass. No mod is needed. It's the type of switch.

No. 3pdt switches and true bypass switching inherently does this.

I had the same thing happen to MXR Blowtorch. Annoying pop noise every time I switch it on. Total deal breaker for live play to me. Although, I was told that a guy could mod it for a less true bypass and replace the switch. I didn't go with it though, I'm keeping my Swollen Pickle, no pops there.

Just switch it on a snare drum hit, can't hear the click then!!

that's what I do anyway on my truebybass pedals.
