EHX Big Muff Pi (Bass & Non-Bass Versions)

Yes, I've used the search

So there's a non-bass specific Big Muff for relatively cheap locally and I'm wondering how it compares to the bass specific one.

I've read reviews on both saying there is a significant loss of low end, anyone ever A/B them to see how much more you lose with the non-bass one?

I'm not huge on fuzz/distortion sound for bass but I'd like to add some grit to my Qtron and I'm wondering if it's worth the $50 or if I should pass on this one.

Thanks for any input!

This is the non-bass specific one I'm talking about

In my experience this is a pretty awful pedal for bass. Generally the best ones for bass are the Civil War Big Muff, and the Russian Green Big Muff. It's worth holding out until you can get one of those. But you may pay a bit for one.

Hope that helps.

Yeah... the more I think about it the more I think I should wait. Wasn't really looking for a fuzz, but this one popped up on CL and gave me a bit of GAS lol

This is a video of one being used with bass, doesn't sound too bad.

I would stay with the Bass Version of this pedal.
It's much more versatile than the guitar version.

Is not very good and specially there is not a knob for blending with your dry sound...

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I hate the Bass Big Muff. I prefer any of them over it, with the USA version coming in just in front of it.

My first choices is a Black Russian. I like the Green Russian as well. I've never played a Civil War version so I can't comment on it. I also like an English Muff'n, but it's not quite the same thing...IMO.
